Beldert ballonvaart 02 08 09 037 300x225 1

Diving is a fantastic sport. You can not just jump into the water with a dive set. Safety goes first and foremost in diving. As an association we have chosen to offer diving courses according to the PADI system. Thorough training that makes safe diving possible and where you can learn all the tricks of diving in a fun way. Although, according to PADI, independent diving from 10 years is possible, as an association we have chosen to offer diving courses from 12 years onwards.

From 12 to 14 years you can participate in the Junior courses. These courses are the same as the adult courses, but there are only restrictions on the maximum depth to which you are allowed to dive. With the Junior Open Water Diver license you can have a maximum depth of up to 18 meters and follow-up courses up to a maximum depth of 21 meters.

Junior divers should always dive with a certified adult dive. The same guidelines as for adults apply from 15 years onwards.

Cost of diving:

The costs of the courses can be found here at the link at the bottom of the page. It is often thought that diving is an expensive sport. If you occasionally dive, you could rent things. Most, however, find it more pleasant to purchase diving gear. A price indication for that is difficult to give. A rough indication for a completely new equipment is € 1,500 to € 2,500 but there is a lively trade in second-hand items, just look at marketplace. This can significantly reduce costs. The nice thing about an association is that you can look around with members all diving, get tips from experienced members and help with the purchase of a set.

Diving is a buddy sport. In principle, you always dive with the two of us unless you have a special certificate. This is for your own safety! And that of your buddy of course. If anything happens then there is help at hand and, not unimportant under water, the air from the second machine of your buddy.
At the association you can always find a buddy who wants to go diving on an evening, in a weekend or maybe even a holiday. As an association we organize regular dives in the season during the weekend and there are the Tuesday evening dives. In addition, there are also members who dive all year round in the Netherlands (with a dry suit) so you can dive to your heart's content even in the off-season.

As a professionally organized association, there is a lot of attention for safety within Lutra. Diving is a safe sport but, like many other sports, not harmless. Compliance with safety standards is at the top of the list of points for attention.

A special aspect within the association is teaching young children in a swimming pool. A separate protocol has been drawn up for this within the association. This protocol is available for members on the member pages. If you as a non-member want to know more about this, you can send an email to Dit e-mailadres wordt beveiligd tegen spambots. The association has a separate Health and Safety Coordinator who periodically tests safety. Not only in teaching situations but also in the use and maintenance of diving equipment. These RI & E inventories are periodically on the agenda of the board meetings. If you have a question or want to report a safety problem, you can send an email to the arbo person of the club; accessible via Dit e-mailadres wordt beveiligd tegen spambots. The association has appointed a confidential adviser who is available to all members. She or he is not part of the teaching framework within the association. If you would like to approach the confidential person, you can do so via Dit e-mailadres wordt beveiligd tegen spambots. JavaScript dient ingeschakeld te zijn om het te bekijken.. If you want direct contact, the who-is-who page can see who the confidant is. The telephone number of this person can then be found after logging in on the members list.
